You Can See Clearly Now…Or Can You?
One of the only things these days that might be tighter than the credit market is a crowded jobsite.
Materials, buildings, forms, co-workers, other pieces of equipment…it can be a maze that you have to negotiate every day.
That’s why we’ve included a visibility challenge as part of the “Prove It!” Tour. We put real contractors in the operator’s stations of different skid steer brands to see if their visibility could match John Deere’s.
Look behind you!
No, seriously…
Check out this challenge – and your skid steer’s visibility. How close would YOU be able to get to the line?

Why didn’t you test gehls or are you chicken they would beat a deere
You have obviously never been in a Deere. I have been in them all and Gehl has some of the worst visibility out there. I admit you can see the bucket edge very nicely, but you need mirrors all over the place to see out the rear.
then you’ve never been in a gehl 7810e with a vertical lift boom
Read above comment as “No, I’ve never been in a Deere or any other brand for that matter. My blind loyalty to the mediocre Gehls prevents me from believing there’s any possibility of a better machine in any regard out on the marketplace.”
But thanks for all the deeply insightful comments anyway.
frank the tank i’ve been in em all to and gehl’s the best
Deere does have the best visibility that I have ever seen out that rear window, and I have only run the older ones (7775 series etc…)
I think it’s interesting that this has turned into a Gehl vs. Deere discussion. I’d guess the only company selling fewer machines than Gehl is the continually bankrupt Thomas. I posed the question before, but in what regard do you feel a Gehl (wheeled) is so superior? Look at a spec sheet. Gehl is outspec’ed by pretty much everyone in most regards in pretty much every class they offer a machine. They are a cheap, cheaply built, basic machine. If performance, reliability, serviceability, visibility, etc. are all secondary to your requirements in a machine, knock yourself out. Hope you’ve got a good dealer behind you. Who knows, now that they’re foreign owned, maybe they’ll spend some money and develop a decent product. I won’t hold my breath, and will support American owned companies with my business. It would be nice if you’d back up your claims of superiority with a few facts, gehlman101.
I also demo’d a Cat skid loader last year and they have terrible visibility. that thing is dangerous!
clearly JCB has the best visibility of all the skid steers with the single arm design advantage!!!!!!!!!!!!
